As is often the case, tragedy was the precipitating event leading to the incorporation of ILA in 2004. Saving the life of a friend with terminal cancer became Richard Joseph Chapin's personal mission, drawing him into an intense exploration of full-spectrum light therapy. Chapin has continued directing ILA's activities to develop new light application theories and brings current light therapy investigations to heightened levels of inquiry.

"We built an instrument that everyone can use"

ILA is committed to promoting the understanding of the use of true, natural, and celestial light and to maximize their applications in an active partnership with the medical, scientific, and academic communities.

How It Works
The Collector's 84 mirrors move as a single unit that can rotate 360 degrees. By adjusting each mirror individually, the reflected moonbeams can be focused onto an area as big as a pickup truck or as small as a persons head.
